馃摑 Your Role聽
The SLP in this role will be responsible for evaluating and treating children with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders by completing screenings and evaluations, writing appropriate treatment plans and developing functional goals to help the children and their families achieve their objectives.聽
馃敹 Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, communication, and swallowing delays or disorders for children birth to 18 with ASD and other developmental disabilities.聽
馃敹 Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results, setting measurable goals to improve identified areas of need.聽聽
馃敹 Provide direct therapy to children using a variety of therapeutic techniques and tools.聽
馃敹 Collaborate closely with Orange BCBAs and other staff to ensure consistent treatment strategies and foster a supportive environment for the children and families.聽
馃敹 Educate and train families and caregivers on speech and language development techniques to reinforce therapy at home, and strategies to support the child鈥檚 communication needs in daily life.聽
馃敹 Monitor client progress through data collection and analysis, adjusting treatment as needed.聽
馃敹 Maintain accurate records of assessments, therapy sessions, progress notes, and other documentation in compliance with legal, ethical, and institutional standards.聽
馃敹 Identify when referrals to other specialists (e.g., audiologists, pediatricians, psychologists) may be needed, and advocate for the child鈥檚 best interests in multidisciplinary teams.聽
馃敹 Continuously update knowledge of best practices, research, and new technologies related to pediatric speech therapy, language development, and feeding issues.聽
馃敹 Maintain a target caseload of at least 30 therapy hours a week.聽
馃敹 (SLP CFY only) Follow speech therapy treatment plans for clients under direction of the supervising SLP CCC and in accordance with Federal and State guidelines.聽
馃帗 Skills and Qualifications聽
Education聽
鉁旓笍 Master鈥檚 Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program聽
Licensure/Certification聽
鉁旓笍 ASHA certified (CCC) OR must be eligible for 9-month Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) in order to earn ASHA certification (CCC)聽聽
鉁旓笍 SLP licensure in the State of Illinois聽
鉁旓笍 Illinois Early Intervention credentials or willingness to become credentialed preferred聽
鉁旓笍 CPR certification required within 90 days of hire聽
Experience聽
鉁旓笍 At least one (1) year of experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities required聽
鉁旓笍 At least one (1) year of experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems required聽
鉁旓笍 Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability and desire to work well in a multidisciplinary team聽
鉁旓笍 Commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care to children and their families聽
Skills聽
鉁旓笍 Passion for working with neurodiverse pediatric population聽
鉁旓笍 Strong understanding of child development and pediatric speech, language and feeding disorders聽
