Job Description
The newly created Data Accountability and Governance Group (DAG) is looking for a dedicated Associate Engineer to join its team to help implement a new Gas Asset Data Model. The candidate is responsible to help plan, organize and direct business activities for the Gas Asset Management System implementation within Gas Operations. This includes coordination with Engineering, Operations, Construction, Information Technology and Supply Chain. Additionally, the Associate Engineer will develop project plans, schedules, and manage competing priorities to effectively implement an asset management system throughout Gas Operations.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Assist with managing the project schedule, budget, scope, and deliverables.
- Conducting information gathering workshops and coordinating with internal and external departments.
- Identifies necessary projects and prepares cost justification studies and cost benefit analyses. Prepares and submits projects for the capital budget.
- Performs a project management function including develop project plans, schedules, and manage competing priorities to effectively complete assigned project tasks.
- Management of field collected Locusview data. Locusview is a turnkey solution (hardware, software, and managed services) that allows for the real-time capture of an assets geospatial location and material attribution during construction.
- Works closely and acts as a liaison with consultants, contractors, manufacturers and suppliers relative to proposals, their work conduct, performance, and potential modification of work plans.
- Performs vendor and contractor qualification comparisons. Analyzes contractors, manufacturers and suppliers bids to determine compliance with specifications.
- Is proficient in directing major projects (e.g. capital, maintenance, R&D) and managing others who may be assigned to support the project.
- Keeps informed and up-to-date with respect to new technology and developments in the industry. Evaluates and makes recommendations for use of new materials and equipment.
- Assist with other Engineering related tasks and activity, as needed.
