Job Summary
- We are responsible for ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local regulatory requirements and professional standards for health, safety, and environmental issues.
- The successful candidate will develop and coordinate workshops and training to keep districts current with changes in laws and regulations.
- They will act as a liaison between districts and regulatory agencies responsible for enforcement of health and safety laws.
- Key responsibilities include administering, interpreting, and providing technical assistance with Federal, State, and local health and safety laws and regulations.
- Additional duties include developing model plans for required health and safety, emergency, and other plans.
- The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and project management skills.
- The role involves conducting or supervising environmental investigations and inspections, including air, water, and soil samplings.
- Responsibilities also include performing or supervising inspections of school district buildings to assess compliance with applicable NYSED Commissioner's regulations and NYS Fire and Building Codes.
- The selected candidate will be responsible for monitoring budget and service costs for the health and safety program.
- Additionally, they will assist participating school districts with collecting data about condition of life-saving equipment on school premises.
- The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of health and safety regulations and laws.
