What are the responsibilities and job description for the PROGRAMMER/ANALYST position at Orangeburg County?
General Description :
The purpose of this position is to provide support and technical assistance to County staff related to computer systems, hardware, or software. Respond to support requests, run diagnostic programs, and determine / implement solutions to those issues.
This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
Duties and Responsibilities :
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.
- Build, update and maintain the County's Website.
- Provide technical assistance and support for incoming requests and issues related to software and hardware.
- Respond to requests either in person, over the phone or remote connection.
- Follow up with employees to ensure issue has been resolved.
- Setup and install computers, monitors and printers.
- Provide maintenance for payroll software and resolve errors with hand held scanners.
- Run reports to determine malfunctions that continue to occur.
- Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.
- Monitor daily system back-up to assure that all data can be restored if necessary.
- Performs other duties and related work as assigned and instructed.
