Job Summary: The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for accurately entering financial data into accounting systems, maintaining transaction records, and assisting with processing invoices and payments. This role will also involve managing accounts payable ledgers, reconciling bank statements, and reviewing vendor statements. The Accounting Clerk will also handle general office duties, maintain financial records, and support supply purchases and inventory management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Communicate with vendors and customers regarding payment issues, billing discrepancies, or other inquiries.
• Enter financial data into accounting systems to include but not limited to matching data in Great Plains and/or equivalent financial operating systems
• Maintain an accurate and timely record of transactions
• Assist with processing invoices and payments within expected deadlines, including needed follow up for outstanding invoices and/or payments
• Manage Accounts Payable ledgers to include but not limited to entering payables in a timely, accurate manner and ensuring ledgers are balanced on a monthly basis
• Assist with reconciling bank statements with financial records
• Review and validate vendor statements; follow up on invalid statements
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes including downloading and entering data from franchise reports
• Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing documents and reports as needed
• Organize and maintain financial records and filing systems in Great Plains (and/or equivalent financial operating systems) and Teams; assist in ensuring all necessary data is stored in the correct filing system
• Communicate with vendors and customers regarding payment issues, billing discrepancies, or other inquiries.
• Monitor company expenses under the guidance and direction of the Assistant Controller
• Assist with general office duties, such as answering phones and managing correspondence related to financial matters.
• Assist with supply purchases and inventory management
• Performs other related duties as needed and directed by leadership.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, or related field, preferred.
• One plus years of related experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Accounts Payable/Receivable processes
• Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year end closing processes is a plus.
• Competency with MS Excel or other ERP system, and general computer use required
• Strong data-entry, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills required
• Basic math skills and an understanding of accounting principle
