Job Summary: The Regional Head Coach is responsible for providing ongoing support to the Fitness Coaches within their assigned regions. The Regional Head Coach will develop OTFC approved training modules to strengthen the management, organizational, and coaching skills of all Fitness Coaches, resulting in skilled OTF coaches, increased memberships, and improved member retention. The Regional Head Coach will assist assigned regions in their recruiting efforts and develop audits to rate studio and trainer performance tracking.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create a positive, high energy, and respectful OTF studio environment.
- Manage, educate, and develop the studio’s fitness team through approved training curriculum, proper feedback, and appropriate leadership.
- Certify new coaches and lead monthly OTFit trainings.
- Assist in the training and development of new and current coaches and Head Coaches.
- Assist Head Coaches within their region in recruiting fitness coaches.
- Complete quarterly audits to ensure compliance of all studios within assigned region.
- Support and ensure cleanliness of fitness equipment and training floor.
- Assist with the marketing, community outreach, and studio in-reach to grow the organizational member clientele.
- Support Head Coach in creating and managing coaching schedule – daily, weekly, and monthly schedules.
- Assists sales team with follow up communication with prospective, new, current and former members.
- Meet weekly with Studio Manager to discuss studio performance, sales and operations.
- Assist in handling member concerns in a professional and objective manner with the goal of resolution.
- Hold monthly fitness staff meetings to discuss KPIs and other relevant information provided by OTFC or regional management.
- Instruct a minimum of 8 classes per week with a recommended maximum of 15 classes per week.
- Assist sales staff with studio tours/sales of prospective members; staying up to date with pricing of membership packages.
- Host OTF approved special events, member workshops, and coach continuing education courses.
- Maintain high level of coaching and leadership through a willingness to take developmental feedback from Director of Fitness and Senior Leadership.
- Maintain active employee files, including fitness certifications and CPR certifications.
- Maintain equipment and preventative maintenance logs.
- Must be available in case of a studio emergency (i.e. coach no show).
- Conduct monthly meetings with Head Coaches within assigned region.
- Assists in creating and revising performance review resources to ensure effective performance management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in an exercise related field or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of three years’ of personal training or group training experience with fitness certification
• Multi-unit leadership experience strongly preferred
• Current personal training or primary group exercise instructor certification from one of the following nationally accredited certification programs: ACE, ACSM, AFAA, NASM, NSCA, NCSF
• Current CPR/AED certification
• Intermediate to advanced level knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics
• Experience training individuals through functional training techniques
• Experience in a group exercise training setting, preferred
