The Orangetheory Fitness Studio Manager is responsible for providing leadership and daily direction to the sales and group personal training teams in our facilities. This critical position must have a solid understanding of sales and operational excellence. As the lead for the sales function, the SM must execute a lead generation / marketing strategies plan to increase fitness program sales as well as promote the health and wellness benefits that are associated with a healthy lifestyle. This leader must pose a high caliber approach to coaching and staff development.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Sales
- Lead and coordinate initial and ongoing sales drivers such as: presale events, studio events, outreach.
- Responsible for meeting performance metrics (KPIs) and revenue goals through developing a high- energy sales culture. Is promotionally-oriented and can direct sales through company-required outreach and contests utilizing regional and corporate promotions.
- Develops and cultivates strategic business to business partnerships with local businesses and corporations to drive corporate sales, packages, and member engagement.
- Supports and manages Sales Associates in setting and achieving all sales goals of their studios by ensuring the staff is consistently and effectively coaching and executing the sales process and systems.
- Effectively utilizes OBI and MBO to set goals for the sales team and to hold them accountable.
Operations
- Properly manage and exceed all OTF sales and operational budgets.
- Compliance and adherence to all OTF business policies for daily studio operations.
- Builds and maintains OTF class size through scheduling optimization - anticipates seasonal changes, and ensures holiday schedules remain compliant.
- Ensure OTF branding through consistency and continuity in all actions and that all front desk systems are followed such as: proper member check-in procedure, telephone inquiries (general and sales related), guest registration, cash handling, sales calls, delinquent account procedures, customer care calls, change requests and document scanning.
- Manage and effectively documents disciplinary actions involving all studio employees.
- Maintains a level of cleanliness compliant with both local government and corporate standards at all times.
- Effectively manages ordering, inventory, payroll, and facilities maintenance in a cost conscience way.
- Maintains an active presence in their home studio by spending a minimum of 40 hours per week there.
- Mondays are a required day of work, in addition to one weekend (Saturday or Sunday) day, unless requested off in advance. All of these hours are required to occur in studio as other tasks, phone calls, and meetings will occur outside of the studio as well.
- Attends quarterly audits for the studio to ensure compliance with the corporate standard. Performs daily walk-throughs with staff to ensure the studio is clean, the atmosphere is optimal, well maintained, and up to Orangetheory standards.
- Responsible for recruiting, on-boarding, and ongoing development of all OTF Sales Associates.
- Other duties that align with the mission and vision of Orangetheory Fitness. Additional duties outside of the scope of this description may be necessary to perform during the studio’s response to COVID-19, before and after reopening.
Culture
- Manage, monitor, coach, develop, and evaluate the performance of all OTF staff both formally using quarterly reviews, and informally on shift.
- Provide and maintain the highest level of customer service and provide effective and timely decision- making regarding customer service issues.
- Works with marketing in planning thoughtful and creative events to build community and culture within the studio through a strong presence in the studio and on social media.
Leadership
- Models all studio activities through self-involvement (leading by example).
- Properly train, empower, monitor and evaluate specific responsibilities of sales team and fitness team.
- Prepares and mentors the team for ongoing success and future growth.
- Uses, at minimum quarterly, performance evaluations both on and off the Orange Univeristy platform, to identify strengths and direct opportunities of the team.
- Facilitates weekly SM/HC meetings to discussing areas of strength and opportunity for the studio and the entire staff.
- Performs regular checks for compliance by secret shopping the studio, roleplay, and auditing MBO. Works with management to ensure all resources are being utilized effectively so that follow up is occurring at all levels. Effectively communicates consistently regarding goals and progress throughout the month.
- Weekly Commitment: o 1-hour 1 on 1 meeting with your Sr. Studio Manager and/or General Manager o 1-hour 1 on 1 meeting with your Head Coach o Attends all management meetings held in the region applicable to their position
- Monthly Commitment: o Facilitates monthly all staff meeting o Attends all required monthly corporate webinars applicable to their position
- Quarterly Commitment: o Attends all required role-based workshops applicable to their position
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in related field and experience in a fitness industry leadership role. Experience accepted in lieu of education.
2. 2 years of fitness sales experience.
3. 2 years of management experience.
4. Ability to manage and drive all revenue streams from membership sales to retail.
5. Demonstrated experience in managing staff; ability to motivate a team.
6. Polished communication skills, both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills.
7. Demonstrated success in developing strategies to support business and sales objectives.
8. Ability to interface with company leadership, establish credibility and build effective relationships.
9. Strong customer service orientation and the ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels of the organization.
10. Creative and strategic thinker with the ability to set priorities based on organizational needs, priorities and preferences, and develop solutions to challenges.
11. Self-motivated team player who is accountable for initiating and managing projects through to completion with a minimum of management direction.
12. Computer proficiency with a variety of office applications and agility to learn new software packages as needed.
13. Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, re-prioritize and juggle multiple priorities at any given time to meet stated deadlines.
14. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with poise, tact and diplomacy.

Supervision Exercised
Manages OTF Sales Associates. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these functional areas. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; setting goals and appraising performance; mentoring; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
