Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated and passionate Teachers to join our educational team. We need instructors for afternoon and evening chess enrichment programs during the school year. We teach at public/private schools and our facility. In summer, we need instructors for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) day camps and strategic-thinking games. The ideal candidate will have a background in education, chess, natural sciences, Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, and a commitment to fostering a nurturing, stimulating learning environment for K-8 students. This role involves engaging with students while implementing effective curriculum development strategies tailored to meet the diverse needs of each child.
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with educational standards.
- Provide high-quality instruction in subjects including chess, natural sciences, Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, or other strategy games.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and exploration.
- Support children's social, emotional, and physical development through interactive activities.
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Collaborate with parents and caregivers to discuss student development and address any concerns.
- Create an inclusive classroom atmosphere that accommodates students with special education needs.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in childhood education.
Qualifications
- Chess experience required. Tournament experience and puzzle rating of 2000 is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, natural sciences, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Experience in K-8 school settings or special education is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles and practices.
- Ability to create engaging curriculum.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and children.
- Passion for educating young children and fostering their growth in a supportive environment.

Pay: $23.35 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 26 per week
