Special Skills, Experience and Knowledge:
- Production and Processing – Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control for maximizing the effective manufacture of product. Through knowledge of measurement tools and vision inspection system about inspection and programming.
- Environmental, Health, Safety and Security – Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote a safe and compliant workplace in accordance with applicable local, state, or federal regulations for the protection of people, property, data, etc.
- Mathematics – Knowledge of basic math.
- Communication – Effectively communicate with others at all levels of the organization both written and audibly to convey necessary information effectively.
- Continuous Improvement – Objectively monitoring/assessing performance of you, procedures, products, etc., to make suggestions or corrective actions that drive continuous improvement.
- Technology Skills – Microsoft Word, Excel and Quality Management Software.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (ISO, AS9100D, etc.).
- This position reports to the Director of Quality.
Key Job Tasks:
- Inspection and measurement of both purchased and manufactured products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, micrometers, or other electronic measurement equipment.
- In-Process & Final Inspection of manufactured or processed parts:
- Visual inspection
- Dimensional verification
- Functional testing
- Documentation review and maintenance
- Generation of all necessary documentation for all nonconforming or suspect material and notifying supervisors or other personnel of production problems.
- Read blueprints, data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments required.
- Assist in packaging of inspected materials.
- Assist the Director of Quality in the completion of Process Audits, Supplier Audits, Customer Audits and Certification Audits.
- Assist in the calibration of test gauges and equipment.
- Assist in the completion of First Article Inspections (FAI’s) for both internal requirements and for customers.
- Write test or inspection reports describing results, recommendations, or needed repairs.
- Program vision CMM for the inspection of etched and formed products. Train production and inspection personnel on use of the vision CMM.
- Maintaining good housekeeping in the inspection & packaging areas.
