Ship’s Force Support Team
Newport News, VA
This Ship’s Force Support Team (SFST) position will support the Aircraft Carrier Refueling Complex Overhaul (RCOH) program at Newport News, VA.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide Planning and Execution support to Deck, Supply and other Departments and associated Production Teams.
- Provide training on the planning of work by the creation of tasks for all jobs assigned, estimating man-hours required to accomplish, and scheduling for accomplishment
- Conduct training with Ship’s Force in the use of Ship’s Force Information Management System (SFIMS) to include building of tasks, inputting work items and progressing of tasks
- Assist with SF Production Team formation (manning levels) and execution strategies for accomplishing assigned work
- Provide assistance at the Divisional/Work Center level as well as all Ship’s Force Production Teams in developing work schedules, maintenance plans, equipment lay-up and start-up plans as applicable
- Work with the Ship’s Force Work Package Material Manager (SFWPMM) to identify, source, and procure material in support of the SFWP
- Assist Ship’s Force in forecasting SFWP material requirements for production work and tools for associated production teams
- Provide Planning and Execution support to meet applicable Key Events
- Monitor divisional man-hours available versus man-hours remaining to ensure work remaining can be accomplished by Ship’s Force within the timeframe of the Availability
- Assist Deck Department with creating Painting plan and execution strategy
Required:
- US Citizen with Secret Security Clearance
- A minimum of five years related experience is required, ideally within a CVN Deck Department in a leadership position.
- Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in planning and execution of Ship’s Force Work Package (SFWP) for CVN availabilities.
- Have working knowledge of the CVN availability planning and execution, CSMP management, work candidate validation and scheduling.
- Physically able to transit in a shipboard environment; to include inclined and vertical ladders, service lead obstructed passageways and a constantly changing dynamic environment
- Have a good working knowledge of the following programs:
- MS Outlook
- MS Word
- MS Excel
- MS Power Point
Preferred:
- A working knowledge of the following Navy references:
- Technical Standard 9090.310 (series)
- NAVSEA Standard Items
- SUPSHIPINST 4720.2 (series), Memorandum of Agreement (MOA)
- Carrier Team One concepts and practices
- A working knowledge of the following RCOH specific programs/processes:
- Ships Force Integrated Master Schedule (SFIMS)
- RCOH Work Control Process
- RCOH Work Integration Process
