What are the responsibilities and job description for the Systems Engineer position at Orbis Ops?
ORBIS is looking for a Systems Engineer to support our government customer. We are looking for a Systems Engineer who seeks innovative solutions for designing, implementing, and managing complex systems. The systems engineer will work closely with team members and customers.
Duties/Responsibilities
- The Contractor shall develop and implement solutions to meet technical specifications and standards.
- The Contractor shall gather and analyze user or client requirements to determine system objectives and constraints.
- The Contractor shall identify and troubleshoot any issues or inefficiencies during the testing phase.
- The Contractor shall pursue different technologies as directed by the Sponsor.
- The Contractor shall document design plans, technical specifications, user manuals, and system configurations
- The Contractor shall identify potential risks or vulnerabilities within the system and develop strategies to mitigate these risks
- The Contractor shall collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, hardware engineers, project managers, and stakeholders.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Education and Experience
- A Bachelors degree is required for this position.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Systems Engineer role in the IC.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- U.S. Citizen
- TS/SCI with polygraph
- Demonstrated experience developing detailed design and associated deliverables.
- Demonstrated experience translating customer and system requirements into design.
- Demonstrated experience designing system interfaces.
- Demonstrated experience with networking fundamentals, operations, and maintenance.
- Demonstrated experience with Security Control Frameworks
- Demonstrated experience with using NIST standards
Desired Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated experience developing accessibility standards.
- Demonstrated recent experience with the Sponsor's suite of applications providing repository and search services that enables Sponsor to find the information they need.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Routine video conference and/or in-person meetings.
- Ability to attend planned meetings within the Washington Metro Area region.
