FUNCTION : Orbit Farm Technologies
SUB FUNCTION : Service Delivery
REPORT TO : General Manager
CLASSIFICATION : Non-Exempt
LOCATION : Cedar Rapids, IA base office, will be field based travel daily
EDUCATION : Bachelor’s degree in computer science preferred
EXPERIENCE : 1 years telecommunications field services experience preferred

You will play a crucial role in designing, installing and maintaining low voltage systems for our clients. This could include technologies such as structured cabling, security systems, DAS and fixed wireless system installation and other cutting-edge technologies that play a vital role in revolutionizing how technology supports the agricultural landscape.

What You Will Accomplish and Experience
- Interpret and follow work orders, blueprints, datasheets, site drawings, and project plans to determine tasks and requirements.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and rented equipment while adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Install, terminate, and organize low voltage and network cabling efficiently and professionally.
- Test and verify the integrity of network cable runs (Ethernet) to ensure proper functionality.
- Install and configure network equipment such as firewalls, patch panels, switches, and access points.
- Perform field installations of equipment, including camera systems, access control hardware, wall-mounted monitors, and television systems.
- Conduct maintenance and repair work on towers and field equipment using hand or power tools.
- Inspect completed work to ensure proper installation, including tight hardware, leveled antennas, secure hangers, adequate support, and effective weatherproofing.
- Work comfortably on ladders, scaffolding and confined spaces, such as attics.
- Run and secure appropriate power, grounding, or coaxial cables for equipment installations.
- Perform rooftop site surveys, noting structural geometry, sizes, and conditions.
- Prepare detailed reports on project status, progress, and other work details using computer software.
- Serve as a professional company representative to clients, maintaining strong relationships and effective communication.
- Assist in coordinating site access and equipment rentals as required for project needs.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail, quality standards, and adherence to safety guidelines in all tasks.
