Position Summary:
Orbital is seeking a talented individual to join the Immunology team. This position will be responsible for the assay development and design of experimental approaches to assess Orbital mRNA medicines including the design and execution of in vitro experiments to support multiple Immunology and Inflammatory disease programs. The candidate will be responsible for the proper design and execution of experiments, data analysis and interpretation, documentation, presentation of work in internal meetings and in written reports. We are searching for an enthusiastic, innovative, well-organized and highly motivated individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design and execution of cell-based functional immunoassays to support the validation of RNA medicines using techniques such as flow cytometry, ELISA and qPCR.
- Bring innovative ideas and solutions to drive progress and achieve objectives in further the drug development of our programs
- Act as a team player including mentoring junior lab members and actively contributing to the success of the team and company goals
- Work cross functionally with RNA and delivery research teams in a matrix and fast evolving environment to further development of our platform technology
- Presentation of findings during internal meetings, conference/webinar attendance and summary of the novel key learnings relevant to ongoing programs.
Qualifications:
- B.S. with 5 years, or M.S. with 3 years experience in Biology, Immunology or a related field.
- Experience maintaining mammalian cell culture.
- Experience with immunological techniques including multi-parameter flow cytometry and/or molecular biology techniques such as ELISA and qPCR.
- Experience with in vitro cell-based assays using immortalized cell lines and primary human immune cells.
- Demonstrated ability to execute experiments, analyze data, and report conclusions.
- Excellent organizational, communication, time management skills.
