What are the responsibilities and job description for the Monitor Tech Acute Care position at Orchard Hospital Test 2?
The Monitor Technician / Unit Secretary / Assistant, under direction and supervision of a RN and / or Charge / Supervisor Nurse, maintains constant observation, recognition and documentation of cardiac rhythms, recognizes normal and abnormal cardiac patterns and reports significant findings. As Unit Secretary : assists nursing and medical staff by acting as receptionist, unit liaison, and secretary for the nursing unit. Facilitates good communication to all areas where telemetry / cardiac monitored patients are located, and is accountable for telemetry / cardiac monitored patient location when properly informed to facilitate notification of a patients rhythm change. Capable of performing Assistant, Unit Secretary, and Monitor Technician activities as needed throughout the course of the assigned shift.
Qualifications :
- High School Graduate or Equivalent; Prefer CNA
- Basic Arrhythmia Recognition Course completion or equivalent knowledge and experience with plan in place to complete within 60 days of orientation.
- Minimum one year experience utilizing clerical, computer, receptionist skills;
- Minimum one year experience in nursing unit, hospital, or clinic environment preferred;
- Must be able to read and write English
- Current BLS Certificate
