Summary/objective
Accountable for carrying out basic and repetitive daily clerical support responsibilities, including but not limited to phone answering, great customer service, order entry, photocopying, record maintenance, reminder phone calls, scheduling, Authorization and follow up, and other general office work. Preserves a professional approach when dealing with clients and patients, both internal and external.
Pay: $21.00-$25.20
Essential functions
- In charge of completing daily office support tasks that are repetitive and routine in nature, including but not limited to error-free scheduling, filing, telephone answering, customer service, mail distribution, photocopying, record maintenance, authorizations and follow up, and other general office responsibilities.
- Filter and route incoming calls and routine messages.
- Provide familiar information in response to common departmental service inquiries.
- Keep records, official papers, and/or reports in accordance with customs or protocol.
- Keep track of your office supply inventory.
- Daily rounding with internal department regarding available services including outpatient, inpatient, nurses/hospitalist and emergency room.

Work environment
- Interaction with patients to schedule appointments, verify insurance information, medical safety clearances and instruction for imaging procedures preparations.
- Work closely with radiologists, radiologic technologists, and other medical staff to ensure smooth operations within the department.
- Collaboration with other administrative personnel is common for tasks such as billing, and record-keeping.
Physical demands
- The employee's primary work-related activities are sitting, using their hands to converse or hear, and handling objects.
- The employee must frequently walk while stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
- Occasional standing is required of the employee.
- Occasionally, the employee may have to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- This position specifically calls for close vision, distance vision, and the capacity to change focus.

Required education and experience
- Must have high school diploma/GED or its equivalent.
- The ideal candidate also has previous professional experience within a medical environment.
- Specialize training as a medical administrative assistant at proprietary schools across the country.
Preferred education and experience
- 2-3 years of experience as a radiology administrative assistant.
- Be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Calm demeanor in stressful situations.
