We are looking for a part time Resident Assistant for day shift 7am-3pm. Every other weekend is required. 40 hours a week.

Job Description:
The Resident Aide is a critical member of the care team at Orchard Park assisted living, responsible for providing direct care and assistance to residents in a safe and respectful manner. This includes providing personal care, monitoring residents' health and well-being, and promoting independence and dignity.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and assistance to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor residents' health and well-being, including vital signs, physical condition, and cognitive abilities.
- Recognizes resident’s rights and responsibilities to ensure that they are followed.
- Promote independence and dignity by encouraging residents to participate in activities of daily living, such as meals, exercise, and social activities.
- Respond promptly to resident call lights and requests for assistance, providing timely and appropriate care and attention to maintain the comfort and safety of all residents.
- Help the kitchen pass out meal trays to residents during meals you are scheduled to work.
- Follows shower schedule for each resident.
- Respond to emergency situations in a timely and appropriate manner, such as medical emergencies or fire alarms.
- Maintains working knowledge of hearing aids, wheelchairs, walkers, and other durable medical equipment and/or devices.
- Adheres to all established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations. Example: uses proper infection control procedures such as handwashing and gloving.
- Record and report observations and care provided to the appropriate parties.
- Complete daily charting duties as assigned by the Floor Supervisor.
- Adhere to 4-hour mandatory reporting on all Medicaid Waiver residents.
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of common areas within the facility, including hallways, lounges, dining areas and other shared spaces, to ensure they are safe and comfortable for residents and visitors.
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of resident's living areas, including making beds, changing linens, and cleaning bathrooms on a regular basis.
- Manage the laundry and linen needs of residents, including collecting, washing, folding and distributing clean linens and clothing to ensure residents have clean and comfortable personal items.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
- Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality.
- Demonstrate exceptional teamwork and interpersonal skills, collaborating effectively with fellow staff members and fostering a positive and supportive work environment. - Participate in ongoing training and education related to caregiving and safety.
- Attend all mandatory staff meetings.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working in an assisted living or long-term care facility is preferred, but not necessary.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow caregiving protocols.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to pass a background check.
