History of Orchard Park Country Club:
Western New York’s premier family club of choice, Orchard Park Country Club (OPCC) was founded in 1946 and is the second home to over 500 families. Nestled in the Southtowns of Buffalo, NY, the Club’s gem is a Walter Travis golf course, known to test golfers of all abilities. In addition, the Club has thriving swim and racquet programs, and the Clubhouse provides robust a la carte and banquet spaces to accommodate the social aspect of our very tight knit Membership.
Orchard Park Country Club continues to establish itself as the premier country club of the Buffalo Southtowns, having just recently celebrated it’s 75th anniversary in 2021. Consistent with the Club itself, Capital Improvement Projects continue to be at the forefront of this family centric club. This past spring (May 2024) the Club completed the installation $2.7 Million Golf Course Irrigation project and is currently expanding its footprint by acquiring an adjacent property for additional parking.
Overview:
The Club is seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team at Orchard Park Country Club. This role is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of the Club facilities, ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment for Members, guests and, staff. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail oriented, and capable of handling a variety of tasks efficiently.
Our current Maintenance Crew Leader, with a tenure of over 40 years at OPCC, will be transitioning to a part-time role as he nears retirement. He will be available to assist with onboarding and training of the new maintenance worker. This will provide a great opportunity for the selected applicant to learn from someone with extensive knowledge of our facilities and operations.
Daily Tasks:
· Open Clubhouse and perform morning inspection / walkthrough.
· Assist with housekeeping and upkeep of Clubhouse.
· Clean and maintain Clubhouse perimeter, including walking paths, ice machines, patio, terrace, outdoor furniture and trash receptacles.
· Report to Clubhouse and Events manager for daily duties on events and set-up
· Responsible for the upkeep of satellite areas such as, the pool, tennis center and, golf food and beverage stations.
· Assist with laundering of linen and towels when necessary.
· During off season - carpet cleaning, touch up paint, furniture repair and preventative maintenance.
Competencies:
· Perform routine inspections and maintenance of Club facilities, including but not limited to the Clubhouse, dining areas, locker rooms, event spaces, pool, halfway house, pro-shop, and storage buildings.
· Conduct minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC repairs as needed.
· Maintain and repair lighting fixtures, doors, windows and other structural elements.
· Ensure proper operation of club amenities.
· Conduct minor repairs to outdoor furniture, fencing and signage.
· Operate and maintain small equipment such as power tools.
· Implement a preventative maintenance schedule for systems and equipment.
· Monitor and maintain HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems to ensure efficient operation.
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations.
· Perform seasonal maintenance tasks such as snow shoveling, leaf cleanup, and outdoor furniture storage.
· Support emergency repairs and respond to urgent maintenance requests in a timely manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· Past employment in facility maintenance, handyman work, or a related field.
· Experience in hospitality, golf course, or private club setting is preferred, but not necessary.
· Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
· Ability to lift up to 50lbs, stand for extended periods, work in varying weather conditions, and perform physical demanding tasks.
· Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
· HVAC certification, OSHA safety training, or any relevant trade certification is preferred, but not necessary.
