Job Summary
Orchard Therapeutics is a global biotechnology gene therapy company dedicated to transforming the lives of people affected by rare diseases through the development of innovative, potentially curative cell and gene therapies. The Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) will act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to global function leaders and managers, providing advice, guidance, coaching and support on all people-related matters. Reporting to the Global Head of HR, the Senior HRBP will help to develop and execute organizational initiatives that enhance performance, capability and culture and will also serve as the expert and primary HR representative for US-related HR matters.
Key Elements and Responsibilities:
- Provides day-to-day support and guidance to leaders and managers on employee advocacy/engagement, HR fundamentals and processes, talent acquisition, talent assessment, career development, employee relations, performance management and employee retention.
- Builds trusted relationships and provides coaching to leaders and managers with the goal of enhancing organisational performance, capability and culture.
- Oversees global Talent Acquisition activities and processes in collaboration with recruitment partners and managers.
- Leads annual talent management processes, including goal setting, talent reviews, succession planning, performance management as well as compensation planning in partnership with Global Rewards partners.
- Partners with the HR team to develop and execute business-specific HR strategies that align with our corporate goals, mission, vision, and strategy.
- Provides coaching and guidance to members of the HR team, and supports the Global Head of HR in the development of the HR organisation and HR talents.
- Works with executive leadership in the U.S. to foster an inclusive culture and create a thriving working environment that attracts and retains talent.
- Ensures proper utilisation of HR systems and provides user feedback that enables continuous improvement and accuracy of employee data.
- Ensures that all employee relations issues are properly identified, reported, investigated, and resolved.
- Monitors trends, changes and best practices in the U.S. and other allocated geographies.
- Ensures compliance with local employment regulations and HR policies and procedures.
Experience, skills and knowledge required:
- Extensive generalist HR experience at a global level
- Experienced in supporting and coaching global business leaders and managers
- Strong knowledge of HR practices and employment law in the U.S. and ideally across EMEA geographies
- High interpersonal skills and relationship building capability across all levels
- Ability to engage, inspire, coach, mentor and influence people
- Ability to develop clear, actionable steps from overall strategy and management
- Highly IT literate with good knowledge of HR systems
- Highly organised with good attention to detail and data accuracy
- Very strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Enjoys being hands-on while at the same time supporting strategic initiatives
- Enjoys working in a fast paced, dynamic environment
Education
A minimum Bachelors degree or equivalent, ideally with an accredited HR qualification
