Medical Technologist (Contract)VA Healthcare Center, Fort Harrison, Montana@Orchard LLC is a subcontractor supporting the Veterans Affairs Administration with an urgent need for two experienced Medical Technologists to be located at the VA Healthcare Center, at Fort Harrison, Montana. To be deemed qualified you possess a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and be a certified Medical Technologist by a recognized board.
As the Medical Technologist, your responsibilities will include;
As the Medical Technologist, your responsibilities will include;
- Performing manual and automated procedures, including moderate and complex analysis.
- Develop, perform, evaluate, interpret, correlate, and validate the accuracy of laboratory procedures and results.
- Perform testing procedures on biological specimens using manual or automated techniques requiring a broad exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with minimal technical supervision.
- The work will be in Chemistry (including endocrinology and toxicology), coagulation, hematology, immunology, immunohematology, blood gases, urinalysis, microbiology, and phlebotomy.
- Monitor quality control systems and measures; collaborate in the diagnosis and treatment of patients; and provide education for laboratory and other healthcare professionals, and others in the medical center setting including the public.
- It is estimated the Medical Technologist will spend approximately 30% of the time involved in direct patient care.
- The Medical Technologist shall be responsible for collecting blood and blood products from veterans.
- Bachelor’s of Science in Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Board Certified Medical Technologist.
- Certified in Basic Life Support.
