Nursery Associate

JOB DESCRIPTION

Orchards Feed Ace Hardware, Clark County’s oldest locally owned, premier feed, farm, nursery, and hardware store has openings for full time and Nursery Associate positions. This is a 1-month temporary position with the potential to be brought on as a full time regular employee. Come be a part of our family and help to service the community we love. We have a great team and are looking for enthusiastic and outgoing people to join us. Candidates should be hard-working with a great attitude and willingness to learn. They should also love working with their hands and being outdoors.

We just built a new greenhouse and are looking for people to assist with the planting for lots of plants in the greenhouse.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plant care.
• Potting up plants
• Watering & Weeding
• Load and unload delivery trucks.
• Learn about all products in the nursery department.
• Move products throughout the property.
• Follow all store policies for safety.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• General knowledge of nursey products (plants, fertilizers, pest control, pots, etc.)
• Ability and willingness to take instructions.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work and interact with people of all backgrounds.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to pass a background check.

NOT REQUIRED, BUT NICE TO HAVE

• Pesticide certifications
• Feed industry work experience.
• Bilingual (Spanish, Russian highly valued).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours.
• Ability to regularly move and handle boxes, products, and equipment.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to bend and lift regularly
• Ability to clearly communicate with others verbally
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

HOURS / DAYS / SCHEDULE

• Full-time, Temp-to-hire positions available.
• Full-time employee hours range between 32 & 40 hours per week
• Primary schedule is Monday Through Friday
• Store hours are Mon-Sat 8AM to 7PM & Sun 9AM to 6PM

SALARY / WAGE

$16.50 to $17.50 DOE
