ORE - Shift 1 ($0) (United States of America - Oregon)

a Brief Overview

The Operations Tech, Coating, Trainer, applies powders and binders to coat products and performs in-process inspections using calipers and/or comparators. They are also cross trained on and can perform numerous operations within coating without supervision. They lead on the job training of lower-level Operations Technicians

What You Will Do

• Completes all required training.
• Use hand truck, pallet jack, carts and tables to safely transport product.
• Maintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean and organized condition.
• Detect report faulty equipment, defective material and any unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead.
• Follow designated safety rules and regulations.
• Support Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives.
• Dimensionally inspect work, using appropriate tools including, but not limited to; calipers, pin gauges, measuring instruments and surface plates, etc. as required.
• Perform weekly housekeeping per 5S schedule.
• Detect report faulty equipment, defective material and any unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead.
• Follow work orders to perform operations on various parts and products
• Perform different types of operations based on manufacturing needs
• Lead the training of personnel as directed by the department Supervisor or Lead.
• Reinforces safety expectations. Ensures safety operating practices are demonstrated. Reports issues/concerns to Supervisor
• Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Trainer Responsibilities:
• Participate in a Trainer certification program (provided by Orchid).
• Provide on-the-job training for new hires and ongoing training for current production team members in your assigned area using a three-step process to ensure effective training in including demonstration, practice, and evaluation.
• Train team members using approved written work instructions to ensure training consistency across departments and shifts.
• Partner with Training Coordinator to maintain rosters of training progress, and certification records.
• Partner with operations, quality, engineering, and safety leadership to improve documented processes.
• Ability to train across all shifts to support new team members, when applicable.
