Position Purpose: The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Housekeeping Manager to co-lead a team and ensure that the facility is performance ready and welcoming to all guests. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe and clean environment for all staff and visitors. This position primarily works performances on nights and weekends, will provide work direction for other staff, and will occasionally be the only Housekeeper on duty.

Key Performance Areas:
- Maintain cleanliness standards and guidelines using various processes and equipment to ensure a daily safe and clean environment that demonstrates the Ordway’s impeccable appearance.
- Will communicate with the other Housekeeping Manager(s) to ensure that tasks and events are understood and that any additional resources needed are allocated.
- Work both independently and with a custodial team to complete daily and assigned tasks.
- Maintain all Ordway cleaning standards and guidelines in the common areas, Music Theater, Concert Hall, lobbies, dressing rooms and public and back of house restrooms.
- Complete exterior maintenance tasks as needed, such as sweeping, picking up trash and maintaining an inviting access path to the venue.
- Assist and complete unique tasks when special events are planned at the Ordway to meet the demands of each event.
- This role is responsible for creating a welcoming presence to all who enter the Theater front of house and back of house.
- This key position will provide overall leadership and management of the Housekeeping department to support the achievement of the Ordway’s mission and goals and the department’s goals, specifically supervising Housekeeping staff at weekend and evening performances.

Other Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous managerial experience in housekeeping is required.
- Excellent independent decision making is necessary.
- Supervisory experience, or providing others with work direction, is required.
- Must be comfortable using a walkie-talkie to communicate.
- The ability to lift 50 lbs., with assistance.
- The ability to bend, move quickly up and down stairs, crouch or stoop, crawl, work in small spaces, and walk.
- Ability to operate following equipment: carpet extractor, vacuum, floor scrubber, snow broom and other building maintenance equipment.
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards including General Duty Standards, Hazardous Communications Standards, Occupational Noise Exposure, Personal Protective Equipment, Lockout/Tag Out, and Blood Borne Pathogens.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ability to learn new software such as When2Work scheduling software and Paychex Payroll system.
