Oregon Change Clinic is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Certified Recovery Mentor to join our team on the graveyard shift at our housing facility. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and observe client behavior, offering guidance when necessary and providing a steady, positive presence throughout the night.
- Ensure residents adhere to established recovery protocols, including curfews, conduct, and responsibilities within the housing environment.
- Conduct regular rounds of the housing facility to observe client interactions and ensure compliance with house rules and policies.
- Maintain vigilance regarding any safety hazards or facility concerns and report them promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness of shared spaces, lobby, and restrooms.
- Submit of incident reports and communication of any observed concerns regarding client behavior in a timely manner.
- Enforce facility rules and policies, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all clients.
- Perform safety checks of the premises, including locking doors, securing exits, and ensuring that all equipment is functioning properly.
- Be available for one-on-one conversations when clients need someone to talk to or seek guidance.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience providing direct support and care to individuals in a residential treatment setting for substance abuse or similar care.
- PSS or CRM certification.
- Previous experience in a substance abuse treatment or recovery setting is preferred.
- Experience in crisis intervention or conflict resolution is a plus.
- Able to successfully pass a Department of Human Services (DHS) background check, as a condition of employment.
- Must successfully pass a drug screening and tuberculosis (TB) testing as part of the pre-employment process.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to engage with respect, empathy, and professionalism with clients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Skilled in both written and verbal communication, with the ability to document observations and incidents accurately.
- Understanding of and sensitivity to the unique challenges faced by individuals in recovery.
