School Summary Oregon Charter Academy (ORCA) is a virtual public school serving students in grades K–12 throughout the state. Teachers at ORCA are student-focused, adapting to meet students’ educational needs through personalized learning using our high-quality curriculum and the teaching of 21st-century skills. ORCA is authorized by the Santiam Canyon School District and governed by its independent charter school board. The school has been in operation since 2005 and is accredited through Cognia. Position Responsibilities Working primarily from home within the state of Oregon, the Middle School Math Teacher will be an integral part of the Middle School Team and report to the Middle School Principal. The teacher will be responsible for delivering instruction, building curriculum, attending school events, as well as participating in peer-observation cycles and other duties as assigned. The Middle School Math Teacher Will:
- Create a safe and welcoming environment for all students.
- Deliver engaging instruction through virtual "live" classes and through asynchronous instructional methods.
- Build and/or individualize curriculum.
- Attend both virtual and in-person school events.
- Communicate with parents and students on a regular basis to provide timely feedback regarding student progress and expectations.
- Collaborate with colleagues on a regular basis via asynchronous and synchronous methods.
- Participate in peer-observation cycles.
- Support the school-wide community as outlined by school practices.
