OCDC is a nonprofit organization providing Head Start and comparable early childcare and education programs throughout the state of Oregon. Our team includes educators, social workers, transportation staff, facilities personnel, and administrative professionals, all driven by the shared goal of making a difference.


Position Summary

  • The Education Supervisor manages the implementation, compliance, and quality of education, mental health, and disability services within the Head Start program. This role ensures alignment with agency policies, Head Start Performance Standards, and regulatory requirements while fostering a developmentally and culturally appropriate learning environment. The Education Supervisor leads program planning, staff supervision, and training to promote the growth and success of children, families, and team members. Additionally, this position collaborates with local partners and stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery and a seamless transition for children into future educational settings.


Essential Functions

Program Administration:

  • Oversee the implementation of education, mental health, and disabilities programs.
  • Ensure accurate, timely documentation, reporting, and compliance with agency policies.
  • Develop and manage budgets for program staff, equipment, and materials.

Program Implementation:

  • Ensure the use of approved curriculum and developmentally/culturally appropriate practices.
  • Monitor lesson plans, classroom observations, and continuous improvement efforts.

Staff Supervision and Support:

  • Recruit, supervise, and evaluate education and disabilities staff.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development.
  • Support staff in curriculum planning, child development, and behavior management.

Collaboration:

  • Partner with families, local schools, and community agencies for program delivery and transitions.
  • Develop interagency agreements and manage contracts with local service providers.

Monitoring and Compliance:

  • Review referrals, screenings, and ensure timely follow-ups.
  • Maintain compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor program records and ensure documentation accuracy.

Training and Development:

  • Plan and deliver pre-service and ongoing training for staff.
  • Coordinate technical assistance with community resources and partners.

Advocacy and Communication:

  • Serve on community advisory groups and advocate for migrant children and Head Start families.
  • Maintain clear communication with staff, management, and stakeholders.


Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or higher in early childhood education, OR
  • BA/BS degree or higher in any field and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education; AND
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience; preferably in area of program management.

Salary : $63,690 - $73,570
