What are the responsibilities and job description for the District Technology - Technician I position at Oregon City School District 62?
Position Description:
The District Technology Technician I is a member of the District Technology Services Team. Technology Technicians give support to district schools/departments as assigned by the District Technology Supervisor. They provide on-site technical assistance and training to staff and students in maintaining, problem solving,and troubleshooting equipment, software and systems. The Technician I will install software, operating system patches and fixes, and hardware as directed by the District Technology Supervisor.
Special Requirements: (Certification, training, specialty skills or previous experience)
1. Prefer an Associate’s degree in Information Technology or related field or the equivalent.
2. Minimum of two (1) years experience providing technical support, and advanced knowledge of Apple and Windows operating systems.
3. Excellent customer service and written/verbal communication skills.
4. Familiarity with scripting, Linux and web services is a plus.
5. Must possess the physical ability to occasionally lift 50-70 pounds and have access to a personal vehicle for site visits.
6. Ability to attend and participate in appropriate technology/educational meetings.
7. Ability to organize and prioritize work responsibilities effectively and to provide timely feedback to customers.
8. Ability to analyze systems and develop solutions, comprehend and follow written and oral instructions, and work well as part of a team or individually.
9. Provide phone/e-mail support for technology staff as well as district employees.
10. Ability to adapt to constantly changing technology.
11. Must have a solid understanding of network connectivity and protocols and be able to quickly isolate and find root-cause of issues.
12. Ability to work as a member of a team and to maintain professional working relationships with students, staff,
and the community.
13. Must demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.
NUMBER OF HOURS PER DAY: 8.0 HOURS PER DAY
NUMBER OF DAYS WORKED PER SCHOOL YEAR: 260 DAYS PER YEAR
HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $24.65 - $34.67 PER HOUR (RANGE 15)
