What are the responsibilities and job description for the ESY Special Education Instructional Assistant position at Oregon City School District 62?

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervises group practices or activities under the direction but not necessarily in the immediate presence of the teacher.
2. Deals with behavior and discipline problems; personally resolves minor problems, informs teacher of major problems.
3. Types correspondence, bulletins, reports, instructional and curriculum material from rough copy or dictation. Duplicates materials.
4. Keeps class attendance and related instructional records, files materials, checks materials in and out.
5. Assists the teacher in devising special strategies for teaching or reinforcing material or skills based on individual student's needs, interests and abilities.
6. Prepares learning materials as dictated by prescribed education or lesson plans, exercises some judgment in the selection and use of materials within established guidelines.
7. Instructs students with physical, mental and/or learning disabilities.
8. Serves as the primary source of information and assistance to any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of a regular teacher.
9. Performs basic secretarial and clerical tasks associated with the production of materials for instructional programs; types and duplicates materials, files and maintains records.
10. Performs related duties as directed by the building administrator and certified teacher in charge.
Special Requirements: (Certification, training, specialty skills or previous experience)
1. Must have ability to work harmoniously with teachers, students, and other staff.
2. Must have ability to take direction appropriately, changing tasks as necessary.
3. Bilingual in Spanish desired, but not required.
4. Must have completed two years of post-high school, obtained an Associate’s degree or higher or successfully passed the WorkKeys test.
5. Must demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.
JULY 7 - JULY 24, 2025: 4 HOURS PER DAY, 4 DAYS PER WEEK (MONDAY-THURSDAY)
