POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Admissions Associate
REPORTS TO: Visitor Services Manager
JOB SUMMARY: The Admissions Associate is responsible for selling admissions, membership, and other items and for providing visitor services and information in a positive and friendly manner.
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Greets visitors and provides information about the Aquarium.
2. Collects fees, operates computerized cash register, issues tickets, and sells memberships and related customer products, wheelchairs and strollers.
3. Answers telephones, routes calls as appropriate, and provides general public information.
4. Participates in customer services and sales training programs for team members.
5. Anticipates visitors unique needs and provides or requests appropriate assistance.
6. Assists in building evacuations in accordance with the crisis management plan as necessary and appropriate.
7. Properly handles and logs lost and found items and routes them appropriately.
8. Completes all opening and closing procedures, including morning counts and group check-ins.
9. Cleaning and maintaining rental fleet and working area

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITYThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Minimum levels)
-Minimum of two years experience as a cashier.
-Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
-Must be able stand for long periods of time.
-Experience working in a high-traffic visitor-oriented facility preferred.
-Experience using computers is also required.
-Ability to perform basic math
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work involves considerable standing, walking, and kneeling. The ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds is required. The ability to ascend and descend ladders/steps is required.
MENTAL, HEARING, AND VISUAL DEMANDS:
The work involves continuous mental and visual attention involving reading, listening, analyzing, visualizing, or otherwise performing very involved, comprehensive work.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Some sedentary work is required when performing administrative duties at a computer station. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in variable weather conditions.
ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Compliance with appropriate company standards is required.
