Designs strategies, approaches, activities, opportunities and events, virtual and in person, to connect students to career experiences to create a culture of Career Connected Learning. Develops relationships with faculty, teachers, academic and career advisors / counselors, parents, community partners, and business and industry to facilitate engagement in relevant learning experiences that connects students to future career opportunities and move them through a system of Career Connected Learning (CCL). Through CCL, provides a framework for career development and guidance across the stages of awareness, exploration, preparation, and training that are both learner-relevant and directly linked to professional and industry-based expectations.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Connects the multiple systems already in place that provide equitable, quality career awareness, exploration, preparation, and training programs for students in K-12.
- Promotes and elevates the role of postsecondary institutions in training, education, and workforce development through a variety of methods including, but not limited to, presentations, information sessions, community events, and other marketing strategies to connect with stakeholders.
- Builds relationships and connections for schools across Oregon with employers, colleges, career technical education (CTE) Regions, local workforce development boards, and STEM Hubs in support of CCL.
- Addresses capacity and equity gaps in regional CCL systems. Reviews system data, identifies gaps, and recommends targeted strategies for improvement. Assists with implementing recommendations and building nontraditional methods and partnerships to reach goals and address resource needs.
- Collaborates, develops, implements and evaluates the functions of the program.
- Recommends best and promising practices of systems, supports, programmatic structures and standards, and data and tracking systems to local education agencies and other educational and community partners for improvement efforts related to operations and compliance with established policies, objectives and regulations pertaining to CCL
- Collaborates with both internal and external partners to plan and facilitate both CTE Day and Career Cruises.

- Bachelor's degrees in education, social sciences, business administration, counseling, communications, or related field
- Three (3) years of experience in workforce development or career-based learning, including experience in a coordinator or lead role
- Experience convening groups and facilitating meetings
- Experience working with diverse backgrounds of the college's community, students and employees; demonstrated commitment to promoting access and diversity.
- Ability to work flexible schedule on occasion to accommodate business needs and their capacity to host studentsKnowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Qualifications :
- Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, statutes, regulations, codes, and standards related to the area of responsibility.
- Ability to identify and incorporate continuous changes in federal and state policies and procedures, ensuring OCCC compliance.
- Ability to deliver effective public presentations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to maintain professional partnerships both internally and externally
- Verbal and written communication skills, and ability to develop and deliver effective public presentations.
