What are the responsibilities and job description for the Universal Lending Specialist position at Oregon Community Credit Union?
Starting Pay Range: $25.00 - $28.70 per hour.
OCCU offers $2 per hour in additional compensation for bilingual Spanish-speaking employees who pass a standardized language test.
Location: Eugene, Oregon; This position may have varied location needs based on assigned role. This could include onsite, remote or hybrid work in Oregon or Washington

The Universal Lending Specialist supports lending functions across OCCU, providing support as needed in the areas of member service, credit services, loan production and processing, titles, underwriting and ancillary sales. This position requires a high degree of adaptability, must be team oriented and have a willingness to continuously learn. The role will float between critical lending functions within OCCU every three to nine months allowing OCCU to provide exceptional service in an ever-changing environment.
Every day you will:
- Consistently demonstrate alignment with OCCU vision and values.
- Learn and adapt to new roles every three to nine months, as needed.
- Complete role responsibilities as needed refer to current job descriptions and performance expectations.
- Act as a trusted advisor in all interactions with members and potential members.
- Demonstrate organization and attention to detail.
- Provide exceptional service to our members and other departments. This includes providing prompt responses, creative problem solving and being flexible while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Consistently strive toward goals with high standards for the quality of work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must follow all BSA regulations, including completing CTR reports when applicable, reporting suspicious activity via SAR when applicable and completing annual training.
To thrive in this role, you must have:
- A minimum of two years of similar or related experience within lending and or collections.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member while using discretion in decision making and sound judgement in problem solving.
- Demonstrated ability to use computer for data entry and compiling information. This includes the use of Microsoft Office suite, Adobe as well as credit union systems.
