Oregon Eligibility Partnership (OEP) is a program within ODHS that determines eligibility for people living in Oregon who apply for medical, food, cash and childcare benefits through the ONE eligibility system. OEP plays critical part of the eligibility process that moves beyond integration and equality, to focus on equity of services and providing timely, accurate, and necessary eligibility determinations through a person-centered approach.

As a Benefit And Eligibility Worker, You Will
- Treat customers, stakeholders, partners, vendors and co-workers with dignity and respect.
- Conduct phone or in person interviews for Oregonians, collecting household details, current income, current resources, and other applicant information necessary to determine their social, habilitative, therapeutic, food, medical, and safety needs.
- Explain applicant rights and responsibilities during the initial application interview and when benefits are changed and renewed.
- Utilize all applicable forms, computer systems, tools, and resources to make eligibility determinations at intake, when an Oregonian renews benefits, and or when a recipient reports changes to household.
- Communicate eligibility decisions to applicants and send all required notifications within the appropriate time frame.
- Process data in a timely manner to ensure delivery of benefits and services.
- Two years of experience determining eligibility for an agency program by interviewing to assess the needs of clients and interpreting and applying the policies, rules, and guidelines applicable to the client's situation.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience relative to the class concept.

Working Conditions
- Work schedule is 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday on-site at the NE Salem ODHS branch office; this is NOT a remote work or hybrid work position.
- Experience constant contact with the public, including contact with customers experiencing emotional and financial stress.
- Serve a diverse range of customers with compassion and professionalism through a trauma informed lens.
- May require sitting at a computer or telephone for prolonged periods of the workday.

- The Oregon Department of Human Services does not offer visa sponsorship.
