What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Attorney General position at Oregon Department of Justice?
The Oregon Department of Justice (DOJ) serves as the State’s law firm and is headed by Attorney General Dan Rayfield. The DOJ employs about 1,400 individuals statewide and has a biennial budget of approximately $550 million. The agency is headquartered in Salem and has various legal and child support offices across the state. The DOJ advocates for and protects all Oregonians, especially the most vulnerable, and runs programs related to child support, district attorney assistance, crime victim compensation, and more.
This is a full-time hybrid role for an Assistant Attorney General located in Portland, OR. The Assistant Attorney General will be responsible for providing legal advice, conducting research, negotiating, and handling labor and employment law matters. The role may involve some remote work.
