Bring your customer service skills to the Bend DMV as a Real ID Specialist! In this role, you will assist the public with obtaining Real ID compliant identification cards, answering questions related to Real ID and providing customer support for Oregonian’s looking to switch to Real ID compliant documents in advance of the May 2025 launch of the Real ID act. What is the Real ID Act? The Real ID Act establishes minimum security standards for state issued driver licenses and ID cards. For anyone traveling by airplane or visiting certain federal facilities, you must have a Real ID compliant document effective May 7, 2025.

Minimum Qualifications
Two years of public contact/customer service experience which involved dealing with the public in person or by phone providing information about services/programs or explaining and/or applying rules, regulations and procedures.
AND
Experience or training using computers to retrieve and input data.
AND
Three months experience collecting money and making change.
Completion of an associate’s degree will substitute for one year of the public contact experience.

A Day In The Life
- Help the public with obtaining Real ID license, instruction permit or identification cards.
- Serve as a primary representative in the office for Real ID transactions.
- Accurately produce photo licenses, instruction permits and identification cards.
- Administer, correct and explain driver license knowledge test. Conduct vision tests.
- Explain state and federal requirements for different driver and identification transactions.
- Provide exceptional customer service while following privacy laws.
- Communicate clearly with customers from diverse backgrounds to accurately answer complex questions.
- Collaborate with office leaders and managers to ensure efficient operations related to issuing Real ID.
- Examine documents for eligibility prior to issuing credentials.
- Prepare daily reports and balance transactions at the end of each day.
- Travel to other offices in the region to perform relief work.
- Work is performed in a DMV office setting with extensive face to face interaction with the public.
