The Role

Join our team as a sanctions transaction specialist where you will work closely with different agencies and customers to ensure the compliance of driving privilege sanctions. Bring your customer service skills and help us ensure the safety of Oregon travelers! Apply today!

A Day In The Life

  • Process, review and issue hardship permit applications, forms and other documents to determine they meet criteria set by policies, rules and procedures.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of laws, rules and procedures that relate to convictions, suspensions, appealed convictions, etc.
  • Process reinstatements for driving privileges.
  • Prepare correspondences that explain the laws and rules related to suspensions and reinstatements of driving privileges.
  • Review implied consent forms to ensure minimum requirements are met.
  • Process all ignition interlock device (IID) documents, install, deinstall, reporting, exception and exemptions.
  • Review suspension notices, convictions, judgments, vacates and driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII) diversion agreements to implement for driving privileges.
  • Answer inquiries from courts, attorneys, law enforcement, IID providers, internal customers and other groups of people reaching out for more information.
  • Work with other state licensing agencies to record and report driving history.
  • Work is performed in an office environment working from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents;

OR

An associate degree in any field;

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience working in a high production environment.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure particularly when dealing with upset or angry customers over the phone.

  • Experience answering inquiries in writing and over the phone regarding explaining rules, processes and procedures.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with co-workers with strong customer service skills.
