This position is required to identify, triage, and work to restore essential IT services and application accessibility. This position will continue to minimize the impact of system outages and work proactively to identify faltering systems and proactively seek to avoid an outage. This position is vital to the ongoing operations of ODHS/OHA applications and systems.
Specifically, this position is responsible for the following:
Major Incidents – Coordination of restoration of IT Service and application outages. This can be when a single incident results in total service failure for more than one customer, or when a major customer has a total loss of failure of a service at either a critical location or a critical time in their business calendar. These system outages can range from mainframe or TRACS being unavailable to a local branch office without network connectivity.
DCS Request and Incident Support – This position helps create requests and incidents that are sent to the DCS through their Ivanti ticketing system. This person will monitor emails for these requests, sets up the request, and follow the request through to completion.
Event Management - leverage automation to manage events to become more effective and efficient. Any detectable, discernable occurrence or change in status that has significance for the management of the IT infrastructure or the delivery of IT service and evaluation of the impact a deviation might cause to the services. This position will capture events for future analysis, warn and attempt to avoid eminent failure and disruption to the business.
Change Management - Responsible for daily-tasks associated with the agency change management processes to help enter, update, and coordinate date and communications around those processes.
Configuration Management - To maintain and update CMDB or agency available configuration database lists, interacting with item owners, and or interacting within ITSM products relevant to configuration items.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Information Systems Specialist 5

(a) Four (4) years of information systems experience in:
(agency will specify specific experience);
  • Applying ITIL framework to successfully establish or optimize processes
  • Incident management platforms such as PagerDuty
  • Ticketing systems such as CA Service Desk Manager, Ivanti for Neurons, etc
  • Event management and monitoring systems such as SolarWinds, Statseeker, etc
  • Account administration using Active Directory, Coreview, etc
  • Communication between technical teams and teams that use that technical service

OR

(b) An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field;
AND
two (2) years of information systems experience in:
(agency will specify specific experience);
  • Applying ITIL framework to successfully establish or optimize processes
  • Incident management platforms such as PagerDuty
  • Ticketing systems such as CA Service Desk Manager, Ivanti for Neurons, etc
  • Event management and monitoring systems such as SolarWinds, Statseeker, etc
  • Account administration using Active Directory, Coreview, etc
  • Communication between technical teams and teams that use that technical service

OR

(c) A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.

  • Must have a proficiency with AD administration and troubleshooting in a large-scale multi-site environment.
  • Must have expert knowledge of Active Directory administration and troubleshooting.
  • Must have experience supporting, maintaining and administering core Microsoft technologies including Windows Server.
  • Sound working knowledge of Internet/Intranet technologies including security features.
  • Sound working knowledge of network infrastructure and operations, including switching, routing, Ethernet, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
  • Sound working knowledge of remote access technology.
  • Proficient and familiar with MS Office Professional Suite including the ability to fluently use Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Excellent customer service and telephone skills, and experience in a professional service environment, with responsibility for supporting multiple applications and network environments.
  • Must have good verbal and written communications skills.
  • Must work collaboratively in a remote team setting sharing information and contribute to the team’s success
Special Requirements: To be hired, you must have a criminal records and driving records check that meets OHA criteria at the time of hire, and throughout employment.
Working Conditions
Position may require periodic travel throughout the state.
Some evening, weekend and on-call work will be required.
High volume of contact with customers who have various and unpredictable technical/application support requests.
Required to sit at a workstation, wearing a telephone headset while typing information received from customers into the incident tracking system.
The location of this position is in an office, cubicle and/or an agreed upon remote work environment with significant use of a computer and video conferencing.
