What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cardiology Medical Scheduler position at Oregon Heart Center?
Oregon Heart Center physicians strive to provide the highest level of care to the patients in the Willamette Valley Community. As a fast-paced cardiology and vascular clinic, we are seeking a full-time appointment scheduler. Applicant must be able to work individually, and as a part of a team. Applicant must be able to manage multiple tasks, prioritizing urgent or time-sensitive tasks all while giving patients a positive experience. Applicant must be detail-oriented, organized, and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Scheduler is responsible for:
-Greeting and checking out patients post visit
-Receiving high volume of incoming calls and returning calls in a timely manner
-Scheduling various types of appointments ranging from office visits/tests to outside surgical procedures
-Accurately verifying and entering patient information into EHR (EPIC)
-Familiarization with all health insurance types to ensure authorization is received, prior to scheduling, as needed for appointments or tests
-Working independently to complete multitude of scheduling-related tasks, communicating with team as needed
-Completing assigned duties in a timely manner
-Other varied tasks as assigned by management
