Summary:
Oregon Ice Cream is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to lead both large-scale facility projects and factory installation projects. This individual will play a pivotal role in driving projects to successful completion, ensuring all critical tasks are met on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, the ability to work cross-functionally, and a hands-on approach to delivering results.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive Large-Scale Facility & Factory Installation Projects:
- Lead large facility projects from planning to completion, including factory installation initiatives.
- Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the project life cycle, ensuring milestones are met.
Project Management:
- Oversee day-to-day project management tasks, ensuring efficient execution and delivery.
- Serve as the main point of contact for all project-related matters.
Identify and Manage Critical Path Tasks:
- Proactively identify critical tasks that could impact the project timeline.
- Manage and mitigate risks related to critical path tasks to ensure project timelines are adhered to.
Create, Manage, and Communicate Project Status:
- Develop simple but effective project status reports for internal stakeholders.
- Regularly update project status to the Chief Operations Officer and other key stakeholders.
- Ensure transparency in progress and any potential roadblocks.
Create and Manage Project Schedule:
- Develop detailed project schedules outlining key milestones, deadlines, and dependencies.
- Ensure all activities are completed within the defined time frame.
Align with Stakeholders and Managers:
- Work closely with stakeholders across departments to ensure project goals and timelines are aligned.
- Maintain consistent communication with managers, addressing any concerns and providing updates.
Drive Cross-Functional Team Meetings:
- Lead and facilitate regular cross-functional team meetings to ensure collaboration and problem-solving.
- Drive the team toward timely completion of tasks and project objectives.
Hands-On Involvement:
- Take a hands-on approach to managing the project, executing tasks, and overseeing critical components of the project where necessary.
- Contribute to the execution of the project plan through direct involvement and coordination.
Manage External Vendors:
- Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors, ensuring they adhere to the project schedules and quality standards.
- Work closely with vendors to ensure alignment on timelines, deliverables, and expectations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in project management, ideally within the manufacturing or food production industry.
- Strong knowledge of project management tools and software.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining focus on critical priorities.
- Hands-on, proactive approach to problem-solving and project delivery.
- Experience working with external vendors and contractors is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Work Environment:
- Office Environment: The role will be primarily in the office, collaborating with teams, managing schedules, and overseeing project progress.
- Manufacturing Facility: The position will also require occasional presence at the manufacturing facility to ensure alignment with production processes, monitor factory capacity, and oversee project implementation on the production floor.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work on-site at the manufacturing facility, including walking, standing, and moving around the production floor for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to climb stairs and access different levels of the facility as needed.
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Ability to work in both office and production floor environments, with occasional exposure to industrial machinery and equipment.
