Maintain and repair all processing and packaging equipment and facilities. General expectations include...
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as directed.
Make repairs to equipment as directed.
Answer trouble calls and repair equipment to minimize down time.
Keep your supervisor informed to ensure effective inter and intra departmental communication.
What you will do :
Trouble shoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic and electrical systems.
Make timely and effective repairs on trouble calls to minimize down time.
Perform effective repairs to equipment as directed by work orders, supervisor and manager.
Work effectively with a team to accomplish goals.
Perform Preventive Maintenance as directed by work orders, supervisor and manager.
Participate in all safety programs as needed for the department, including but not limited to lock out / tag out, confined space entry, PSM / PHA, MSDS for material used in maintenance activities, and safety meetings.
Ensure Safety Compliance.
Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
Help maintain a positive and safe work environment.
Order repair parts and materials from equipment manuals and catalogs.
Execute projects assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Stay abreast of new technologies associated with the industry, through trade magazines, training classes and technical manuals.
Document work on work orders and check sheets and directed.
Maintain work areas and tools to ensure safety and efficiency.
Collaboratively perform other duties as needed and directed to support the goals of the company.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements :
Oregon Ice Cream contains office, manufacturing and outdoor workspaces where this position is required to access and work. The position requires a person to be able to frequently walk, stand and climb; bend and twist; see, hear and talk; use hands to finger, handle or feel tool, controls or products; use hands and arms to reach, hold and carry tools or products. Frequently lifting / moving up to 50lbs is also required; occasional lifting / transferring of objects may be required with assistance up to 75 lbs. This positions also requires a person to handle environments of different temperatures and with various food allergens present.
What you will bring :
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum 3 years' experience in environment
Excellent communication skills are required
Must have demonstrated mechanical skills including gear boxes, bearings, chains, basic electrical and basis machining
Knowledge of PLC's and how they function preferred
Experience with case erectors, dairy industry, mixers, freezers preferred
Experience with Ammonia safety and basic operations preferred
Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently
Ability to trouble-shoot, and to meet short- and long-term deadlines
Maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining work areas in a sanitary manner
Great people skills and be passionate about food and ice cream
