Position Details Position Type Classified College / Division Finance and Administration Department Facilities Services Hiring Unit Building Maintenance Appointment FTE (%) 1.0 Position Terms / Mo 12 Position Summary Department Summary Facilities Services is responsible for the operation, maintenance, repair, and construction of the OIT campus. The department supports the education of approximately 3,000 students and the activities of 400 faculty and staff. The Facilities Services department employs 36 full time workers and varying numbers of part time workers and student laborers.
The Facilities Services is a service organization responsible for planning, construction, renovating, and maintaining college buildings and grounds. It operates the mechanical and electrical systems in such a manner as to support the college teaching and community service goals while minimizing consumption of natural resources and providing other services to the college which ensure a clean, safe and healthy environment with effective use of economic and human resources. Position Summary The Department of Facilities Services on the Klamath Falls campus of Oregon Tech seeks qualified candidates for the full-time position of Grounds Maintenance Worker 1.
This position is responsible for a clean, attractive, well-landscaped appearance and safe environment related to the grounds at Oregon Tech. This position will perform all duties throughout the year.
The scheduled hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 7 : 00 a.m. – 4 : 00 p.m. Minimum Requirements
Pesticide applicators license may be required based on position duties; AND One year of experience as a grounds keeper; OR Two years experience in any occupation providing knowledge of horticulture and grounds keeping practices and procedures.

- Ability to move objects weighing over 50 pounds.
