What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver Metal Fabrication Shop position at Oregon Metal Fabrication?
Our shop is an established company that focuses on industrial and commercial metal fabrication. We operate in a fast pace work environment and strive to complete our projects on time with precise detail. We are looking for a hardworking, trustworthy, reliable person that is experienced and safe in loading, securing, and hauling with trailers.
Objective:
We would like to find a candidate that can be relied upon to safely execute hauls without direct supervision. The ideal person will be honest, trustworthy, manage time well, and have a good attitude. They will be willing to help out others around the shop and interested in learning new skills when not completing errands, deliveries, and part runs. This candidate has the potential to be introduced to various pre-fabrication tasks and machine operations, so someone interested in manufacturing would enjoy the environment.
General skills & responsibilities needed:
- Deliver materials and components
- Driving with a trailer (24' tongue pull and 35’ goose neck)
- Safely loading, securing, and unloading materials/parts on and off trucks
- Operate forklift (training available)
- Packaging and preparing shipments
- Logging deliveries, completed BOLs
- Maintain clean vehicles, equipment, tools, and workspaces
- Component Assembly for Shipping
- Operating hand tools (grinder, drill, impact gun, etc.)
- General math skills
- Reading a tape measure
