What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Clerk (National Frozen Foods) position at Oregon Potato Company?
Job Definition: This position coordinates with the Quality Assurance Manager to ensure consistent quality production of all products in compliance with Company and customer standards and Federal/State regulations.
Pay: $25.55 – $29.15 per hour
Shift: Primarily day shift – availability required for overtime (as requested), some holidays, and weekends
Benefits : Permanent, fulltime position benefits include medical, dental, and vision on the first of the month following 60 days of employment. Upon qualifying through hours worked, eligible for paid vacation, 10 paid holidays, jury duty pay, bereavement leave, 401k matching, Life and Long-term Disability Insurance. Employee Assistance Program and paid sick leave are available from the start of employment.
Specific Job Tasks: Varies with job title, includes, but not limited to:
Be a role model in projecting Food Safety while promoting teamwork, safety, productivity, and quality
Manage adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices
Customer complaints, customer requests to include appropriate response and response time based on each unique situation
Review Grade Sheets, monitor and assists lab graders and grading techniques
Export Certificates (TM-11)
Responsible for Sample Request
Investigate and address Foreign Materials
Review product Labels
Start and maintain Shelf Life Studies
Fill in on floor as needed
Back up COA’s/Releasing Product
Back up Pack Report
Back up QA Manager as needed
Use of computer for inventories & production orders requirements
Adheres, monitors, and promotes National Frozen Foods Corporations policies and procedures
Expect to lead by example and report to work as scheduled
Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum 1-year experience in Quality Assurance
Possess strong leadership skills with the ability to multitask
Ability to read and understand the English language
Detail oriented
Possess a very strong attendance record and personal record
Willingness to work overtime on a as needed basis
Read, understand, and obey all plant rules and practice safety as outlined in the employee handbook
Knowledgeable of potential hazards and safety procedures associated with the task being performed
Ability to keep a professional attitude in stressful situations
Strong organizational skills
Time management skills
PCQI certification (have or can obtain)
