Educational Assistant I-ELL - Scappoose High School/Scappoose Middle School 2023-24 School Year
Position requirements
High school diploma or equivalent Two years of post-secondary education or an associate's (or higher) degree, or a high school education of equivalent and a passing score on a state or local academic assessment that measures knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics may be required. Reasonable knowledge of the basic elements of the teaching process and classroom management. First Aid care may be required based on the assignment Assistant will be working with the teacher providing support for students in educational setting and ELD program. Bilingual preferred. Successful candidate will be required to submit to and pass a background check and fingerprint screening.
Position responsibilities include
Performs a variety of instructional duties assisting a certified staff member in the implementation of a specific program for individual students or small groups. Provides secretarial/clerical assistance as needed. This position may require supervision of students on the playground and assistance in the classroom.
Hours: 3.75 per day

- Instructing individuals or small groups of students with special learning needs and/or motor skill needs, following a prescribed program.
- Conducts scheduling, disseminating information regarding students to appropriate institutions under the direction of immediate supervisor.
- After probationary period upon verification of previous experience relevant to the classification posted - (new employee to the district only)
