Position Summary

This recruitment will be used to fill two part-time (a maximum of 10 hours per week) Ambassador positions for the Design for Social Impact (DSI) undergradaute certificate program at Oregon State University (OSU). Positions are open until filled and we'll be hiring for a late spring term start.

The DSI program is now accepting Ambassador applications. Ambassadors are current OSU students who host information sessions on campus, represent DSI at on-campus and off-campus recruiting and Alumni events, and connect with prospective DSI students and families.

DSI Ambassadors are paid employees. Hours vary, but a minimum of two hours per week (20 hours per term) can be expected. Most ambassadors work regular weekly hours as well as additional event hours throughout the term. Student work schedules are flexible each term.

Position DutiesSpeaking to prospective students and their families about the DSI programHosting information sessions about the DSI certificate for prospective students and their families, both in-person and virtually over ZoomSpeaking to donors, alumni, and other partners of the DSI program about the student experienceAnswering e-mail and phone messages from prospective students and / or parentsAttending various recruiting and alumni events as a DSI AmbassadorInteracting with DSI families and students via Facebook, Instagram, and other social mediaHelping with planning and support of current student eventsProviding assistance in the DSI program for various tasks and coveragesOther duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of studyMust meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employmentMust meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard

High School student : Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling programUndergraduate and post-baccalaureate student : 6 credit hours per termUndergraduate international student : 12 credit hours per term

  • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School : 5 credit hours per termGraduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School : 9 credit hours per term

  • Ambassadors must be available to work during the 2024-2025 academic year (including summer 2024)Ambassadors must be both professional and personable with clear and efficient communication skillsAmbassadors must be reliable and dependable with the ability to manage their time and schedule effectivelyAmbassadors must be available to host at least one information session per week, which is approximately a 1-hour shiftAmbassadors must make themselves available for as many of the OSU open house visit days and other recruiting events as possible (exceptions will be granted for class schedule conflicts and special circumstances)Ambassadors must be willing to attend additional events, which can be on campus, off-campus, or virtual over Zoom, and includes recruiting and alumni events

    Fluent in Spanish to support bilingual recruitment session
