Position Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill five (5) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Library Collection Maintenance Project Student Assistant positions for the Library at Oregon State University (OSU). The position supports multi-year projects undertaken by the library’s Collection Maintenance unit to shift and reorganize the library’s physical collections and spaces. This is a physically active position with little to no computer / desk tasks. Training will be provided.
Position Duties
Library Collection Maintenance (CM) Project Student Assistants provide support for the RAS department which may include but is not limited to :
- Support library projects including lifting, sorting, shifting, cleaning, and organizing library materials.
- Maintain physical library collection including shelving books and pushing a cart weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Maintain accuracy and utilize problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Other : project, clerical, and cleaning duties as assigned.
