Position Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill multiple part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) SafeRide Driver positions for the for the SafeRide Program at Oregon State University (OSU).
Applications submitted to this recruitment pool are reviewed as needed. Qualified candidates will be contacted when positions become available.
Position Duties
- Drive SafeRide vehicles in a manner consistent with the core values of the SafeRide program
- Always following state and local road laws while driving
- Utilize the SafeRide app and work with fellow SafeRide staff to coordinate ride requests
- Use hand-held radio to communicate with dispatchers regarding student ride details
- Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicles
- Communicate to riders and staff in a respectful and appropriate manner
- Provide accurate and timely feedback to staff

High School student : Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
Additional Required Qualifications
Must attend the following :
All Staff Training (Tentatively September 18-20, 2024)
Monthly All Staff Meetings (October '24-June '25)
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 2 years.
This position requires driving a University vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the University; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Motor Vehicle History Check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions (as per Voluntary and Compulsory Driver Standards OSU Standard 125-155-0200) as per OSU Standard 576-056-0000 et seq.
