Are you a visual storyteller who thrives at the intersection of design and motion? The Oregon Symphony is looking for a talented and collaborative Graphic & Motion Designer to create engaging visual content that sparks curiosity, deepens connection, and brings our brand to life—across print, digital, and video platforms.

From event posters and donor materials to motion graphics and short-form videos, you’ll play a key role in how we communicate with our community and share the Oregon Symphony’s story. This is a dynamic opportunity to collaborate with a passionate team and contribute to one of the Pacific Northwest’s most beloved cultural institutions.

Here’s how you’ll contribute to our mission:

Design & Branding:

  • Create print and digital materials such as brochures, ads, event programs, signage, email campaigns, and web graphics.
  • Translate brand standards into meaningful designs that resonate with a range of audiences, from longtime patrons to new community members.
  • Design materials for key events including gala invitations, donor recognition pieces, and on-site signage.
  • Support select events in person with photography or multimedia setup.

Digital Content & Motion Design:

  • Develop motion graphics and short-form video content that energizes our digital storytelling.
  • Collaborate with the digital marketing team to build web and social assets, animated graphics, and video banners.
  • Edit and optimize video clips for use across platforms, ensuring brand alignment and accessibility.

Cross-Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Creative Director and teams across Marketing, Development, and Artistic to support campaign and project needs.
  • Contribute ideas during brainstorming sessions and support the creative development of seasonal and campaign initiatives.
  • Juggle multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a strong attention to detail.

Production & Asset Management:

  • Finalize print-ready and digital files and coordinate with printers and vendors to ensure high-quality output.
  • Maintain an organized library of photos, video, and design files.
  • Curate and edit media content as needed for cross-channel use.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or visual arts, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2–3 years of graphic design experience (experience in the arts or nonprofit world a plus).
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator); familiarity with video editing software preferred.
  • Strong sense of design, typography, and storytelling through visuals.
  • Knowledge of digital accessibility and web design best practices (WCAG standards).
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.

Status & Work Environment:

This is a full-time exempt position following a hybrid work model with 2–3 days per week in the office. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required based on project needs.


Salary Range: $65k – $70k/year
