JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Change Through Compassion Program Peer Liaison

Job Type: Full-time, non-exempt (hourly)

Reports To: Change Through Compassion Manager

Salary: $19.50/hour entry rate

Position Description: This individual supports and coordinates with the CTC Manager to fulfill CTC overall purpose and mission. Primary job functions include but are not limited to co-facilitating groups, individual treatment and reaching out and collaborating with community corrections and other agency partners.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • AA degree from an accredited college in behavioral, social, health science, public administration, or human service administration OR have minimum of five years of experience in human services programs, two of which are in a community substance use program
  • Certification as a Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM) or Peer Support Specialist (PSS) preferred/or the ability to attain certification within six months of hire
  • Mentors are required to comply with Oregon Administrative Rules, OWhN Policy and Procedures, HIPAA, 42 CFR, Part 2 Federal Confidentiality Statues and MHACBO certification and ethical standards
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Proficiency in operating computers, logging into and maneuvering around multiple systems
  • Experience with electronic health records ~ preferred
  • Maintains documentation in accordance with established program procedures to maintain compliance with all legal and professional requirements in a timely manner
  • Demonstrated communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a team
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain insurance requirements to operate a vehicle
  • Must submit to & pass a reference and criminal background check
  • Must submit to & pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening test

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the CTC Manager to develop program objectives and plans programs in collaboration with the Director, other department leadership, related agencies, community partners, consumers, and program staff to support the efforts and activities
  • Reach out to the community, specifically the Latino community in regard to promoting and advancing the CTC program
  • Recruit and engage more clients reached within Umatilla and Morrow Counties for the Batterers Intervention Program, Caring Dads program and Conflict Resolution and Recovery program, parenting classes and other comprehensive programs with an emphasis on increasing the engagement with racially and culturally underserved populations
  • CTC Peer Liaison will work with individuals recently released from jail or prison, support individuals who are eligible for parole or release, engage and support individuals into treatment and other programs to reduce rates of recidivism
  • Model acceptable, prosocial behavior for clients
  • Attend recovery related meetings with clients as assigned during business hours
  • Transport clients to recovery activities
  • Act as a community resource, assisting in connecting individuals and families to local groups and organizations where, through participation, they will develop natural supports that will sustain them in the future
  • Facilitate classes and groups as assigned
  • Attend agency meetings, as required

  • Typical work week– Monday, 8-5:30 -Friday, 8-12
