Summary of Role The Assistant Distribution Center Supervisor is expected to monitor and evaluate performance of duties for efficiency and effectiveness, adjust workload among staff to attain acceptable performance. Helps ensure shipping and receiving workload is completed in support of daily and weekly deadlines. Promotes collaboration and teamwork within the Distribution Center and with others to foster motivation, increased productivity, and ensure the highest level of customer service. Assistant DC Supervisor also assists the DC Supervisor with projects and assignments as needed. The Assistant Distribution Center Supervisor will also operate material handling equipment while assembling orders to customer specifications. Loads and unloads trucks for the purpose of shipping and receiving goods when needed. This is a safety sensitive position. If in good standing this person receives first opportunity to backfill DC supervisor vacancy. Essential Duties and Responsibilities o Assist with supervising DC staff, ensuring adequate coverage for key functions is maintained. o Assist with performing employee evaluations and recommends developmental processes in keeping with Human Resources guidelines. o Ensures compliance with CROPP Cooperative policies, safety procedures, Good Manufacturing Procedures, and fair employment practices. o Assists with communicating performance expectations by evaluating performance, providing timely feedback, training and coaching, and recommending personnel actions for assigned staff. o Ensure compliance with policies, safety procedures, and fair employment practices. o Handles confidential information with discretion. o Performs warehouse walks to ensure quality, safety, and productivity in supervisor absence. o Forecast productivity for shift and conducts shift start up meetings weekly or in supervisor absence. o Assist with troubleshooting issues and problem solving. o Verify DC sanitation, quality and production logs are accurately completed. o Assist in Auditing, adjusting, and investigating inventory control daily. o Assist in completing monthly audits. o Prepares orders by processing requests, follow directive work through the WMS, and fill/assemble order for outgoing shipments. o Load and unload trucks. Receive and verify material and product. o Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment by keeping the pick and dock areas clear of debris and/or clutter. o Assist in controlling costs by assuring products are stored safety, accurately, and shipped to customers in good condition. o Assist in preparing for company audits and follow Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure standards and guidelines are met. o Assists the DC Supervisor with projects and assignments as needed. o Train new staff on all required DC duties when Support Coordinators are not available. o Support the control room staff and leadership as needed. Additional Duties and Responsibilities o Performs office or warehouse tasks including paperwork and material handling duties. o Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities o High School Diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary degree preferred. o Demonstrated record of progressive accomplishment. o Warehousing and Perishable Goods / Food Industry experience. o Operational knowledge of refrigerated / frozen warehousing best practices. o Basic knowledge of Good Manufacturing Procedures. o Knowledge of OSHA regulations, Food Safety, Bio-security, and applicable State and Local regulations. o Competent operational ability and acceptable knowledge of Microsoft Office software or comparable business applications. o Ability to work effectively and maintain deadlines with limited supervision. o Critical thinking and decision making skills; able to make effective decisions among primarily known / understood conditions with occasional variables. o Basic math skills including arithmetic; ability to perform and interpret basic calculations related to count, weight, time, rate, and distance. o Verbal and written communication skills; ability to follow instructions and to clearly express ideas in a concise and professional manner. o Effective collaborative skills; must perform comfortably in group settings. o Must be able to read, write, and understand English. o Strong work ethic with history of good attendance. o Capacity for stress in service-oriented environment. o Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with assistance, ability to push/pull objects up to 2,500 pounds using material handling equipment. o Must be able to perform physical work in a variety of positions and at various heights includes bending, stooping, reaching and twisting of arms and body movement. o Tolerate a variety of temperatures conditions. o Must obtain and maintain forklift operator certificate.

Salary : $41,000 - $60,000
