Summary of Role
The Maintenance Technician for Conversion and Labeling Facility (CALF) focuses on the maintenance of all
plant equipment at the CALF facility. This role is also responsible for completing facilities-related projects
as assigned. This is a safety sensitive
role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance on stainless equipment.
- Monitor and assist with routine maintenance Electrical, Mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems on various equipment such as cheese cutting equipment, Ghee cooking and processing equipment, X-ray/metal detection, box erector, robotics, coolers, boilers, air compressors, convoying systems, vacuum pumps, product pumps, COP and CIP equipment.
- Perform troubleshooting methods including but not limited to, Electrical, Mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including reading prints, manuals, working with vendors, troubleshooting programable power controls (PLC, HMI’s, power supplies, etc.), rebuilding gearboxes, replacing bearings, and valves repair/rebuilding.
- Able to understand and make adjustments to equipment under different password protected service levels
- Suggest equipment and building repairs, including obtaining quotes.
- Recommends and implements equipment and process improvements to the team
- Maintain accurate maintenance performance records.
- Maintain preventative maintenance schedule.
- Inspect and repair sanitation equipment, as appropriate.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment according to the manufacture’s guidelines.
- Perform general carpentry for Grade A condition and in compliance with building codes.
- Follow and comply with applicable good manufacturing, and quality assurance policies and practices.
- Adhere to all safety requirements including Lock out tag out. (LOTO)
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with selecting contract help for equipment, electrical and building repair, as needed.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Two year technical degree in maintenance trade or at least three years of experience with electrical and mechanical maintenance preferred.
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Ability to frequently bend, twist/turn, reach above shoulders, and climb throughout shift as needed.
- Experience with boilers preferred.
- Ability to work in an environment that includes: confined spaces, chemicals, hot spaces, noisy spaces, and working at heights with the appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Ability to obtain appropriate respirator training.
- Knowledge of ladder logic computer controls preferred.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Ability to work overtime and on weekends, as needed.
- Ability to be on call as needed
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice’s preferred.
- Experience with food packaging equipment preferred.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
- Ability to multi-task
- Basic understanding of plumbing and electrical codes and regulatory standards preferred.
Base salary/hourly wage range: $22.29 per hour - $31.69 per hour
This position also
receives a $1.00 per hour shift premium between the hours of 6pm and 6am, and a
$1.00 per hour shift premium on Saturdays and Sundays. This hourly wage range
is exclusive of fringe benefits. The compensation package may also include
incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary bonuses. If
you are hired at CROPP, your final base hourly wage compensation will be determined
based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or
experience. Additionally, we believe in the importance of pay equity and
consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final
offer. Please keep in mind that entry-level candidates to this role should
expect to be at the lower end of the hourly wage range and hiring at the maximum of the salary/hourly wage range
is not typical.
