RADIOLOGY TECHNICIAN POSITION OVERVIEW :
Radiologic Technologist will provide radiology services while providing exceptional care to patients in a busy, high-paced orthopedic setting. Applicants must have strong patient care and communication skills. Must be independent, self-starting, and highly motivated. Excellent teamwork is required.
RADIOLOGY TECHNICIAN ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Perform x-ray examinations on patients; confirm the appropriate exam has been ordered; prepare patients for x-ray; obtain risk of pregnancy information from female patients; determine appropriate exposure factors on x-ray equipment.
Operate processing equipment; review images for accuracy; submit images to providers for review; complete procedures while maintaining quality of work within an established time frame.
Perform routine radiographic examinations while practicing radiation safety (ALARA) procedures.
Assist in duties outside of scope during down time, such as maintaining / scanning medical records into EMR system; distributing incoming electronic faxes to appropriate departments within company; preparing x-ray CD’s upon patient request.

Requirements
RADIOLOGY TECHNICIAN REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS :
Completion of an approved course of study in Radiologic Technology.
R.R.T. registration in Diagnostic Radiography.
Ability to work with a diversity of patients in orthopedics.
Demonstrates the ability to work independently and as a member of a healthcare team.
Experience working with electronic medical record systems and picture archiving and communications systems (PACS).
RADIOLOGY TECHNICIAN WORKING CONDITIONS :
Typical business office environment
Possibility of local travel
Constant viewing of computer monitor, mousing and typing
Frequent standing, walking and sitting
Frequent stooping, lifting, carrying and pushing / pulling 10 pounds or more
Occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
Hours of business are Monday – Friday from 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. Must be able to work early, late and long hours, as needed, to meet the essential functions of the job
